I also noticed in the footnote to paragraph 13 regarding the earlier mistaken understanding of the symbolic olive tree that the Society says it is an 'update'. The last sentence of the footnote states....'This updates what was published in the August 15, 1983 Watchtower , pages 14-19'.
No matter how the WTBTS words it (new light, adjustments,updates) the Society has a tract record of getting too many things wrong. Or as some call it: Speculating.

They continue to make the the mistake and/or false step of speculating over things the Bible says they shouldn't..............1Cor 4:6 says in part "Do not go beyond the things that are written"
Past and present WT publications are infested with speculation after speculation. An expample is the date 1914 which does not appear any where in God's Word and yet they continue to speculate on it!

So what do I think about the recent new light given at the 2011 DC?
No doubt there are many (and I mean many) disappointed, disenchanted and dissatisfied JWs who feel like they have been let down. There was no new light as the WTBTS assured that there would be.
An organization cannot promise something like 'new light' as it did in the tract distribution and not produce something of substance without there being a price to pay. And pay it will!

It's nothing new. It's what they have been preaching speculating for decades, at least in my experience.

he said, "given the fact that no other organization has won more supreme court cases than jehovah's witnesses to protect their religious freedom in north america and abroad is unrefutable evidence of jehovah's blessing by means of his holy spirit".. your thoughts?.
Evidence that JWs do not have Jehovah's Holy Spirit..........................JW's have lowest retention rate and JW marriages are falling apart.

I don't mean to gloat over the fact that JW marriages are breaking-up big time according to what a seasoned speaker had to say, nor to celebrate the fact that many JW youth are disillusioned with religion (no thanks to JW Leadership).
However, the fact that this is happening under the WT GB watch is proof that WTBTS is not helping families find family happiness. That is a sad thing indeed!
